Emirates International Charity Foundation
We are Emirates International Charity Foundation
Emirates International Charity Foundation, established in 2007 as the United Arab Emirates Refugee Committee, works alongside displaced people to co-create high-quality services and programs that address their needs. We refer to the displaced as our "customers" instead of “beneficiaries" as a reminder that their voices guide our decisions. We also work closely with affiliate organizations to expand our impact around the world.
The Context
Over 120 million people are currently displaced globally due to conflict, persecution, and natural disasters. A majority of them are women and children, who face increased vulnerability. And rising instability only threatens to worsen this crisis.
Our Purpose
Emirates International Charity Foundation’s purpose is to inspire and unleash abundance in every person, and to build a meaningful life for and with the displaced. This means not simply addressing basic needs, but building lives filled with joy, dignity, and connection.
Our Approach
Co-creation
Emirates International Charity Foundation takes a collaborative, human-centered approach. Unlike traditional humanitarian aid, we co-create solutions hand in hand with displaced communities, who know best what they need.
Emirates International Charity Foundation is a community of organizations:
Emirates International Charity Foundation provides strategic and administrative support to our affiliates, while they maintain their identity, leadership and unique capacity to do good. Together, we’re unleashing abundance with communities around the world who have been displaced from their homes.
